Rich is the Pastor of Family Ministries. This just might be the best job around! He gets to work with babies, toddlers, preschool, elementary, junior high, high school (stay with me...there's more!), young adults, new parents, and families through every stage of parenthood. He also has the privilege of dedicating babies, baptizing, going to youth group, Life Group, Summer Camp, Missions Trips and even preaching! Rich does all of this to help equip our families to thrive in their relationship with Christ and each other.

If Rich sees a food being eaten in a movie or on TV, he has to eat the same thing IMMEDIATELY... especially pizza or cereal.

After accepting Christ in High School, Rich felt the call to be a part of God's heart in reaching Jr. High and High School students. For over 30 years he volunteered in youth ministry as a Small Group Leader, Youth Director, Counselor, Camp Director, and Young Life Event Coordinator. Rich and his family started attending Cypress Church in 1999, where he has served as a volunteer in Student Ministries, 1st - 4th grade Sunday School teacher and as an elder for 6 years. He holds certificates in biblical and theological studies from Western Seminary and is currently pursuing further Christian education.

In 2011, through some grueling life change, God called Rich out of the corporate world and onto the pastoral staff here at Cypress Church. First as the Interim Youth Director, then the Pastor of Implementation, and now the Pastor of Family Ministries. In 2017 the Cypress Police Department appointed Rich as their newest Chaplain where he provides support for the police department and the Cypress community.

Rich loves everything about his wife Lori and their 3 kids (Garrick, Gabriel and Grace), 2 dogs (Captain & Tennille), 1 cat (Meow) and bunny (Herbert Nininger).
