An Insight
Yes, the people in your neighborhood matter. They matter to God. That’s why He moved them close to you or you close to them. Being you are one of God’s people...
1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for His own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
...God has commissioned us, called us, to love our neighbors Leviticus 19:18, Matthew 22:39, Romans 13:9, Galatians 5:14. He has placed us on the street we live on so we will take action to care for those around us because they matter to God too. How could you show care to those that matter to God?
This is a question we constantly need to consider as individuals and as a church. Actually, we chose to name our church Neighborhood Church because we believe God has called us to bring the love of Jesus right into our neighborhoods.
News
This Sunday, June 28, is our annual celebration Sunday. Being our ‘party’ was canceled due to the coronavirus, we will still have some fun specials during our worship services. You will not want to miss our gatherings!
*After discussions and prayer, we are making a change in our Cypress Sunday in-person gatherings. Starting this Sunday (June 28th) and through July 2020, we will be offering one Sunday in-person gathering at 9am at the Cypress campus and the 11am gathering will be online only. We will have an outdoor option at the 9am gathering. We will continue to rebroadcast our 9am gathering at 11am online with live chat moderators, as well as making the worship gathering available anytime online.
Once people feel more comfortable attending in-person gatherings and/or the government loosens limitations, we will consider bringing back our 11am in-person worship gathering. This could happen in July or later and we will flex and pivot in these changing times.
Annual Business Meeting
The Annual Business Meeting will be held at 10:30am on June 28th (both online and in-person). The meeting will last about 20 minutes or less. We have actually done this meeting in about seven minutes! This is where we vote on the church budget and new Elders and Trustees. All people are welcome to the in-person business meeting. All members will have the option to attend either the in-person business meeting or view it online. Regardless, members will be sent a link to enter the online meeting. Members will be able to vote at the business meeting whether online or in-person. If you have not received the link to the business meeting by Friday evening June 26, please email Pastor Rich, Rich@neighborhoodchurch.com.
This is going to be a fun Sunday. I sure hope you can join one of our worship gatherings. I am thankful you are part of Neighborhood Church seeking to love the people that matter to God. Yes, we are Neighborhood Church.
