It can often seem like the unexpected is the only thing we can expect in life. Thankfully God gives us seasons to focus on His work – like Christmas and Easter – which remind us that God is in control and He has always been at work throughout history.
But in truth, the events we celebrate during these seasons were unexpected in nature when they occurred. Easter is about God’s glory, but if we look at the full story, it was a glory unexpected. From the Triumphal Entry where Jesus was hailed as king by the same people who then shouted, “Crucify Him!” a few days later, to the intimate lessons on servanthood and sacrifice at the Last Supper – unexpected. And from the darkest day in history where the innocent Son of God bore our sin on a cross, an apparent defeat in every way imaginable, to the triumph of His resurrection – glory unexpected.
Join us this Easter week as we see the glory unexpected
in a week that is so familiar to many of us.
