THIS IS JON
Jon is the Pastor to our Jr High & High School students and Life Groups. You can find him packing students into his car for a trip to the beach, laughing uncontrollably during an EPIC game of 9 Square, or breaking down God's Word for with teenagers and adults so they can better understand it. Jon loves watching our young people connect to their Creator & relate with students their age!
Jon can annihilate any pizza and loves getting outside in Creation! BANGERANG!
God called Jon into His ministry in the 7th grade and it has been an adventure ever since! Moving from South Carolina to San Diego after his freshmen year of high school, God directed, developed, and discipled Jon through God-fearing mentors, Bible-teaching churches, and mind-blowing opportunities. He has seen God at work, especially in and through young people.
Jon would later go on to complete his BA in Biblical & Theological Studies at Biola University in 2007. He continued to follow God's call into vocational ministry and completed his Master of Divinity, in the area of Spiritual Formation and Soul Care at Talbot School of Theology in 2014. He also worked closely with students as a staff member in Biola's Spiritual Development Department.
He joined the Neighborhood Church pastoral team in April of 2016. Jon's passion is to help students connect with God no matter what - in the good, the bad, the epic, and the ugly. Jon wants every student to know that they are WONDERFULLY MADE by God ON PURPOSE!
Jon is always up for a new adventure with his amazing wife Debbie, their whimsical daughters Shelbi and Oakley!
